Interim Executive Pastor 2016-current
I was found through the Rocky Mountain Converge network to help this church as it had just entered into crisis mode. The church had lost its lead pastor one year before and then a month before coming on as an interim pastor, lost an additional three full-time staff. My responsibilities actually included everything and anything that came our way. Speaking, office administration, leading remaining staff, church events, community events, follow-up, first impressions, care of current attenders, scheduling worship bands and building the weekly service creative elements and order. It is here that I have used the many years of experience, prayer and the grace of God to settle this church, start rebuilding its structure and finally see many new people attend and partner in church membership with us.
I’m involved with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in Denver as we are located just blocks from Johnson and Wales University. We are the beginning stages of seeing JWU students not only attend but be involved in ministry.
Brighton Church, Brighton, CO – Assistant Pastor 2009-2014
My main responsibilities included the creation and implementation of systems to help people be involved in various programs. This included budgeting and analyzing future needs for growth several years out. It was also a responsibility to regularly speak in the weekend services as well as teach the membership class.
Created and implemented a “first impressions” system by which we warmly greet new people and help them feel at home in a comfortable environment.
Led the implementation of a giving system to increase giving and made it efficient for attenders to utilize. Kept up with hundreds of contacts by phone and email while maintaining the integrity of a new database for the over 1,000 attenders involved at the church.
Responsible for managing and budgeting the
inventory of small group products.
Pioneered the church using Social Media to
expand its base.
Always looking to use unique and innovative
solutions.
Was a key part in the exponential growth of the church because of my strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
Bridgepoint Church, Boise, ID –
Pastor of Connections 2005-2009
Was responsible for the transitioning the church doing 25 years of Sunday School into a church of small groups throughout what is known as the “treasure valley”. Had a successful transition by 12 months. Founded how we were going to become a church of small groups, implemented the plan while leading leaders and expanded the ministry during my time there. I also oversaw the process of turning first-time guests into committed members over a period of time.
Was the “first face” of Bridgepoint Church as I creatively presented the membership class and followed up with all guests.
Analyzing which programs and processes were working and which ones were not.
Was a key part in the exponential growth of Bridgepoint Church because of my resourcefulness, ability to multi-task, and exercise independent judgment.
Started, expanded and developed the Married Life Live quarterly events to minister primarily to the new and truly young married couple in the church. This reformed the marriage ministry of the entire church.
Was deeply involved in the college ministry starting from scratch, focusing on Boise State. We had broad involvement from Boise State students in the college ministry which fed into newly married ministry.
Taught through the Bible, verse by verse, every Wednesday night and preached frequently on Sundays. Was in charge of starting, and developing a young professionals/newly married ministry which included a Sunday class and small groups that met off-site throughout the week.
Faith Community Church, Somis, CA – Lead Pastor 1996-2005
Was the lead pastor and sometimes the only staff member of a rural church that averaged in the 200’s for Sunday attendance. Formerly Faith Baptist.
I began here as Youth Pastor, then Associate Pastor, and then finally Lead Pastor. I preached each Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night. Hired other staff so that we eventually have several full-time staff overseeing various areas.
Education Baptist Bible College – Springfield, MO 1990-1994
Received my degree in Theology and a second degree in Pastoral Ministry. My Theology degree was a Christian education while my Pastoral Ministry degree was the business side of leading an organization. This was the training ground for learning to work with people, assess their needs and help meet those needs.
